Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and VCH Solutions, LLC (“DateChi,” “we”) for using DateChi. By creating an account you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.

1. Who can join

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • DateChi is currently for Chicago members. Joining does not guarantee approval, a match, or a date.
  • You may not use DateChi if you are a registered sex offender, have been convicted of a violent or sexual crime, or have been removed from DateChi before.
  • One account per person. The information in your profile must be true and about you.

2. Background checks

DateChi does not conduct criminal background checks. Our manual application selfie review compares your selfie with your profile photos; it is not a government-ID check or a guarantee of identity or safety. You are responsible for your own safety when communicating with or meeting other members. Please read our safety tips.

3. How DateChi works

Members who like each other match and can chat immediately. You have 72 hours to agree on a plan, with one 48-hour extension available in the final 24 hours. Once a plan is accepted, the deadline ends and chat stays open. If no plan is agreed in time, the match expires; you can find each other again after 30 days, subject to eligibility and preferences. Blocking or unmatching is different from expiry and does not allow that rematch. Either person can propose a restaurant, bar, or café and a time. Reservations are made directly with the venue — DateChi is not affiliated with listed venues, does not hold tables, and is not responsible for venues, bookings, or what happens on a date. Venue information comes from third-party sources and may be inaccurate; check with the venue.

Discovery comes in scheduled profile drops and uses mutual preferences, activity and responsiveness. It may pace a member’s exposure while they have a large queue of unreviewed likes. New outgoing likes are limited to 20 per Chicago calendar day; liking back is free. Pausing your profile stops new discovery and Live participation while preserving existing matches.

The morning after an agreed date, a private “Date #2?” check-in opens at 9:00 AM Chicago time for 24 hours. If both people answer Yes, both see a mutual-interest notification and highlighted conversation. If either answers No, the pair is quietly unmatched. Skipping or letting the window expire does not unmatch the pair. Individual answers are not displayed to the other person.

Live is coming soon. When it launches, eligible members can check in at a venue to see people there. For a new Live match, chat opens when either person leaves, or when either chooses “Say hello later”. An already-open Plan conversation stays open if you also meet in Live.

4. Founding launch and access

  • DateChi launches in Chicago with Plan first. Approval is manual. The first 500 approved founding members receive one year of Plan free, beginning when they are approved.
  • Live is coming soon and launches separately after Plan. Founding members receive six calendar months of Live free, beginning when they first activate that benefit after Live launches. Waiting for the Live launch does not start that clock.
  • Live requires an active Plan membership and is for members 21 and older, based on the birthday provided. Venues set their own entry rules and check ID.
  • The Plan year and Live benefit have separate end dates. A Live benefit does not extend Plan membership; if Plan access ends, Live requires active Plan access before it can be used again.
  • No payment details are required for these founding benefits. They do not automatically renew or charge you. Paid subscription sales are not available during this launch. Any future paid offer will require your separate choice and show its terms before purchase.
  • When the founding allocation is full, new applications stay pending until further access is available. After free access ends, contact support about available access.
  • Five approved new Chicago members who join through your invitation earn one 60-day Live reward per inviter. The reward stays saved before Live launches and follows the founding Live benefit or existing finite Live access. It requires active Plan membership and Live eligibility.
  • Live uses your phone’s location when you check in, as described in our Privacy Policy. Safety and moderation rules apply to all access grants and rewards.

5. Your conduct

You agree not to:

  • harass, threaten, stalk, or intimidate anyone, or share anything hateful, sexually explicit, or violent;
  • impersonate anyone, use someone else’s photos, or misrepresent your age, identity, or relationship status;
  • ask for or send money, promote businesses, or solicit anyone;
  • share another member’s personal information or messages without their permission;
  • scrape, automate, or interfere with the service, or access accounts that aren’t yours.

We may remove content, suspend, or close accounts that break these rules or put others at risk, with or without notice.

6. Your content

You own the photos and text you post. You give DateChi a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and process them only to operate the service. This ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we must keep information to comply with law or protect safety.

7. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete my account. Details about deletion and data export are in our Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimers

DateChi is provided “as is.” We don’t guarantee you’ll match, that members are who they claim to be, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, VCH Solutions, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the conduct of any member on or off the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to $100. Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

10. Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

11. Changes

If we change these terms in a material way, we’ll notify you before the changes take effect. Continuing to use DateChi means you accept them.
